Does anyone have solo guide for mewtwo yet

Main Post:

I don't have switch online so I'm looking for a solo guide to take mewtwo out

Top Comment:

Unfortunately the only Solo guide available is getting a Nintendo Switch Online subscription.

Mewtwo is too tanky to take on solo when 3 NPCs don't know Mewtwo is in shield phase.

No pokemon currently can safely setup and damage enough for victory.

Trophy guide yet for the new ps5 trophies?

Main Post:

Can't find anything on line and really curious about the trophy saying something about trying to change the past. I'm assuming by reloading a save?

Top Comment: I got this last night, simply replay the the prologue and do the opposite choice with Hannah and Beth at the end (eg, drop Hannah if you let go last time, or vice versa). I don't know if a 'new game' counts, I reloaded the chapter from a completed save

Yet Another Endless PokéRogue Guide

Main Post:

NO LONGER BEING UPDATED OR MONITORED. SEE V2 HERE

Preface

The best source of information is always the PokeRogue Wiki. This guide does not explain the mechanics of the game. That's the Wiki's job. Read that.

I am writing this guide because the other guides I've found are long-winded, poorly formatted, and/or incomplete. This is a compilation of everything I’ve learned from this sub, my own experience, YouTube, and the wiki. I have distilled all the information from the best sources, listed at the bottom. I will am actively updating this guide with new info as I learn it. Please let me know if anything I've written is missing, incorrect, or out of date.

How to Unlock Endless

Beat Classic mode. Use Skelliderge or legendaries to beat it. Or see the daily community tiering posts and use any high tier Pokémon you’ve unlocked. Keep at it. You can do it.

What’s the point of Endless?

tl;dr: Shiny Hunting, Legendary Hunting, Candy Hunting, Pokédex completing, unlocking hidden abilities, egg voucher hunting, clout chasing. That’s it.

How Does Endless Work?

Ideal Starting Team Composition

THIS LIST IS SUBJECTIVE

Note: you will not have the ability to make the perfect team starting out. But your progress will snowball. Do the best you can and know that every time you fail, you will be better prepared for next time. It may take you a few tries to really get a run going. Don't get discouraged.

Your Big Beater Carry

Invest heavily in 1 Pokémon for the first 2,000ish floors.

THIS LIST IS NOT COMPREHENSIVE. IT IS SUBJECTIVE. DO NOT GET UPSET IF YOUR OPINIONS DIFFER. Please comment NICELY who is missing/miscategorized. I've already gotten a lot of great comments about the ranking. This list is only partially from my own testing; it is mostly from comments and the sources below.

  • S-Tier: Kyogre, Groudon, Zacian, Miraidon, Latios/Latias, Calyrex (either form), Deoxys, Regielleki,
  • A-Tier: Rayquaza, Hoopa, Guzzlord, Mewtwo, Regidrago, Reshiram, Kyurem, Koraidon, Meloetta with passive & Boomburst egg move, Magearna, Pheramosa, Spectrier, Zeraora,
  • B-Tier: Yveltal, Xerneas, Genesect, Zygarde, Dialga (got me through 2,500, but gets sluggish), Tinkaton (with passive ability)
  • C-Tier (for the people without legendaries): Meditite, Ralts, Munchlax, Gastly, Fuecoco, Shellder, Teddiursa, Meowth(Technician), Flamingo with Moxie, Beedrill with technician & Adaptability

For reference, I have 2 runs with big beaters at level 30,000+ while on floor 2,500. I am 20,000ish levels above the level cap and opposing Pokémon. This is through the power of Candy Jars and Rare Candies.

Something with Pokerus

  • This is required for success. You don’t have to keep them for long. You may want to wait until there’s a good Pokémon with Pokerus before starting your run if you want to go further. Replace as needed once another Pokémon catches it.

Pokémon with Pickup and/or Payday/Make It Rain

  • You might be able to find a pickup or payday Pokémon when you start, so not required, but if you have a shiny pickup Pokémon that will be helpful.
  • You won’t need them after like floor ~1,000 once you have 3 berry pouches and lots of money.
  • This does not have to be the same Pokémon.
  • A Combee with honey gather is also good for money.

As many shines as possible

Steel-Fairy

This is for Eternatus. Its moves cannot hit a steel-fairy type. You can easily defeat it and even use it to farm items. You may be able to catch one before floor 250. You may be able to get away with beating Eternatus with your main beater and keep this spot open for something else.

  • Zacian (with rusted sword item)
  • Magearna
  • Tinkaton - Can also get Covet. So draining Eternatus’s items becomes a breeze. This works well with a dragon big beater.
  • Mawile
  • Klefkey
  • A fused Steel-Fairy Pokémon

Runaway Pokémon

  • Don't need to bring this with you as they're pretty common throughout and it isn't needed until the late game.

Best Fusions & Late Game Team

See Wiki

Note: You may find a more optimal combo of moves/Pokémon to fit your playstyle. Below is a list of suggestions and things to consider. This Google Docs guide has info on who has what move and what biome they are available. See this post for other quality info on fusion team building.

Tinkaton & Kartana

  • Fuse Tinkaton with unlocked passive ability "Huge Power" (1st) with Kartana (2nd)
  • Moves: Magical Torque, Gigaton Hammer, Covet, Sword Dance
  • Ability: Beast Boost, Passive = Huge Power
  • This is a good big beater but will fall off as explained in that section

Metal Burst + Salt Cure Combo

  • Fuse Aggron or Archuladon (1st) + Garganacle with sturdy (2nd)
  • Alternatively: Fuse Garganacle (1st) + Archuladon or Aggron with Sturdy (2nd)
  • Nature: Brave (+Atk/-Spd)
  • Moves: Salt Cure, Metal Burst, Dragon Tail/Roar, Protect
  • Items: Kings Rock, Soul Dew, Focus Sash, Leftovers, Reviver Seed.
  • Ability: Sturdy
  • How to use: Set up damage with Salt Cure. Use metal burst to retaliate damage (this is why speed should be 1). Use protect to get HP back up.

Staller

  • This one is complex and will take multiple fusions.
  • First Pokémon: Ghost type that learns Curse (e.g.: Gengar)
  • Leech Seed & Soak - Fuse with Pokémon that learns leech seed (Gengar 1st, Leech seed Pokémon 2nd), then after teaching it, unfuse. Do the same with a Pokémon that learns Soak (Gengar 1st, Soak Pokémon 2nd)).
  • Sturdy - Finally, fuse your unfused Gengar that knows Curse, Leach Seed, and Soak with a Pokémon that has the ability Sturdy (Gengar 1st, Sturdy Pokémon 2nd).
  • Nature: Doesn't matter
  • Items: Focus Sash, Leftovers, Reviver Seed
  • Moves: Curse, Soak, Leech Seed, Protect.
  • Ability: Sturdy
  • How to use: Use curse, then soak, then leech seed and protect to stall.

Alternative Staller - Metal Burst, Protect, Salt Cure, Leech Seed

  • Start with a high BASE HP Pokémon, e.g.: Blissey, Wobuffet, Guzzlord, Regidrago as the FIRST fusion.
  • As explained above, fuse and unfuse it to learn Metal Burst, Salt Cure, and Leech Seed.
  • Teach Protect via TM.

Alternative Staller - Blastoise Poison Heal

  • Fuse Blastoise with passive ability Sturdy (1st) + Garganacle with salt cure,
  • Unfuse and refuse with metal burster (arcaludon ideal) (Blastoise 1st)
  • Unfuse and finally fuse Blastoise (1st) + Breloom (or any Pokémon with poison heal)
  • Moves: Roar/leach seed, Protect, Metal Burst, Salt Cure
  • Ability: Poison cure, passive: Sturdy
  • Items: Toxic orb, DO NOT give it Lum berries,

Prankster Support

  • Prankster ability gives priority to a status move.
  • Moves: Curse, Misty Terrain, Soak, Salt Cure, Leech Seed, any combo
  • Getting curse, salt cure and leech seed onto any pokemon will kill them faster than they can heal.
  • Alternatively, use Prankster Pokémon for ability negation via: Gastro Acid, Entrainment, or Skill Swap

Shedinja

  • Immune to Eternatus.
  • Fuse it with a Dark type to only be killable via Fairy and hazards (First fusion = Fairy, 2nd = Shedinja)
  • Or fuse with a Normal type to only be killable via Dark type moves
  • False Swipe can help catch Pokémon in early game
  • Moves: Will O Wisp, False Swipe, pre-fused moves as explained above: leech seed, soak, salt cure, psychic noise
  • If you have a shiny Nincada, you can end up with 2 shinies on your team when it evolves.
  • Nincada will duplicate any items it holds onto Ninjask and Shedinja when it evolves.
  • If you fuse Nincada, it will also duplicate whatever it was fused with into both Ninjask and Shedinja. Great way to maximize your shiny odds early.

Run Away

  • Run Away ability - Lets you flee from battle, including tricky double-battles.
  • Fuse with a shiny to maintain your luck and free up a slot.

Shinies

How to Beat Eternatus

  • If your beater is not over-leveled enough to take it, you should use a steel-fairy type.
  • Before floor 1,000, remember to REMOVE all healing items from your steel-fairy as Eternamax Eternatus has the "mini black-hole" item that steels items from you, including leftovers
  • Teach your steel-fairy Covet to farm Dragon Fang items for your beater Pokémon. Easy to get max 99 Dragon Fangs by floor 1,501.
  • Fuse your steel-fairy type with a Pokémon that knows Salt Cure or Curse to do easy chip damage. Just make sure to UNFUSE before the fight!

Game Stages

Early Game: Floors 1-2000ish

  • Invest in your beater, get as many high-priority items as you can.
  • If you don't have lock capsule by floor ~1,000 you should quit and start over.
  • Your beater should be fully maxed out with all relevant items by floor 1,000.

Mid Game: Floors 2000-4000ish

  • Traditional big beaters fall off unless you've pumped them full of rare candies and you're in the 20,000-40,000 level range.
  • Transition your team to using a Staller as shown in the fusion section
  • Get your runaway Pokémon, ideally shiny or fused with shiny.

Late Game: 4000+

  • Run away until you find a shiny, legendary, or other Pokémon you want to catch
  • Master Ball what you want to catch
  • Re-roll to get your Master Ball back
  • Repeat
  • As of this writing, "Endless" ends at floor 5,850

Item Priority

This list is subjective. Read the Wiki to learn about the items.

Highest Priority

  1. Lock Capsule (1 max) - need this to lock rarities when re-rolling
  2. Shiny Charm (4 max)
  3. Berry Pouches (3 max)
  4. Candy Jar (99 max)
  5. Healing Charm (5 max)
  6. Amulet Coins (5 max)
  7. Evolution items (mega stones, dynamax bands, etc.. This is party dependent)
  8. Egg Voucher plus
  9. Masterball (get out of jail free card and how to ensure capturing everything you want)
  10. DNA Splicer (Use only as needed/recommended. See Wiki

Medium priority

  1. Soul Dew (10 per Pokémon)
  2. Vitamins
  3. Multi-lens shell bell, golden punch, grip claw, reviver seed, kings rock, focus band, leftovers, grip claw, reviver seed

Optional

  • Rare Candy for your carry.
  • Mints
  • Relic Coins
  • Dragon fang and other move-boosting items (not really needed if you have grip claws)
  • Quick Claw

Top Comment: Since we have the berry nerf and toxic orb has been introduced I'd add ( for the later floors) Blastoise (passive sturdy) Fuse with Garganacl (salt cure) unsplice, then fuse with a metal burster (archaludon ideal but others are fine) unsplice Finally fuse with a Breloom (or other poison heal mon) Giving you a Sturdy, poison heal mon with an ideal moveset: Roar Protect Metal Burst Salt Cure (you can also try to give it leech seed instead of roar if you like) Do not give it any Lum Berries

(Yet another) Magic Missile Guide, dealing upwards of over 600 damage per magic missle cast!

Main Post:

((Sorry! Fixing formatting, bear with me please!))

Greetings folks, my name is Remortis. First time poster here, but I'm sure some of you have seen my builds in r/BaldursGate3 or on Youtube. Been meaning to post some builds, but sadly I've been quite busy with work and the family the last part of the month, ANYWAYS I'll be posting quite a few guides again now that I've got a little more free time for a tl;dr version of the build, I've made a vid for this as well.

https://youtu.be/IKIjNpcimcc

If you don't wish to watch/listen you can follow along in the guide below.

Overview

Essentially, this isn't so much of a leveling guide, as it is a guide on item interaction. Particularly to manipulate the damage output of the spell, Magic Missile. Which is a spell that shoots 3 magical darts that 1d4+1 force damage that will always hit the target, (unless an enemy uses the Shield spell) and will shoot of an additional dart per upcasted spell level above 1. So shooting a 3rd level Magic missile shoots 5 missiles for example. And with Baldur's Gate 3's awesome itemization we can gather throughout the acts, we can create some incredible damage.

Key Items

Starting off with perhaps one of the most powerful and often overlooked swords in the ENTIRE game, available in act 1. And no, I'm not talking about the Everburn blade. The excalibur of the drow, Phalar Aluve. Which has 2 very powerful active abilities. Sing, which is essentially a free bless that effects ALL allies within 6meters, (that also stacks with bless), and SHRIEK, which is what we're more interested in this build, which causes all enemies within 6m to take an additional 1d4 thunder damage ANYTIME they take damage from ANY source. There is no save for the aura effect or the damage. Which means, each magic missile that hits a targete within the range of the aura, will deal that extra damage. But wait! There's more. There are other items in the game that also add to magic missle's damage, but ALSO adds admage to Shriek's damage. Such as the Callous Glow Ring from Act 2 and the Spellmight gloves in act 3.Some other items that can increase our damage include the Amulet of Elemental Torment found in act 1, but is apart of the random loot table from some of the vendors, such as Grat the Goblin Merchant outside of the Goblin Camp or Brem from the Zhentarim Outpost. And Rhapsody, a neat blade that can add up to 3 damage per missile, which you can acquire by killing a vampire lord in Act 3. As well as the staff Markoheshkir also in act 3.The Evocation Wizard's level 10 feature can also apply extra damage equal to your intelligence modifier per missle. Similarly the Draconic sorcerer's ascociated element's damage can be increased too. As well as the Storm Sorcerer, which can get extra damage from other thunder and lightning damage sources, such as the Lightning Charge items in act 1.

SAMPLE BUILD

Race: Dwarf/Duergar

Class:10 Wizard levels specifically Evocation School

First Feat is ASI for +2 IntelligenceSecond Feat is dual wieldThird Feat is another ASI (if you went pure class) otherwise 2 lvl dip in Fighter for Action Surge is good.

Stats:_17 Intelligence +1 from Hag https://bg3.wiki/wiki/Auntie__Ethel%27s__Hair

16 Constitution

14 Wisdom

===================MATH===================

So a SINGLE! MAGIC MISSILE PROJECTILE while wearing

  • Amulet of Elemental Torment
  • Callous Glow Ring
  • Rhapsody Dagger
  • Phalar Aluve Sword
  • Spellmight Gloves
  • Hat of the Sharp Caster
  • And being a level 10 Evocation Wizard

You will deal

+1d4 +1 +3 +1d8 +5 Force Damage and if any of those rolls are 2 or less they are rerolled once

+2 Radiant Damage

+1d4 +1 +3 +1d8 +5 Thunder Damage and if any of those rolls are 2 or less they are rerolled once+2Radiant Damage

+1d4 +3** Fire Damage will not reroll +2Radiant Damage

+1d4 +3** Thunder Damage will not reroll +2 Radiant Damage

So thats a max damage of 64 DAMAGE PER MISSILE PROJECTILE! With a level 5 cast thats 7 projectiles for448 damage and 896 DAMAGE if you apply Vulnerability with the Perilous Stakes Illithid power! (and that not including using the Spellsparkler or markoheshkir. You can have an ally hold Phalar Aluve)

With your 3 actions (Haste and Action Surge) you can apply Perilous Stakes (with your bonus action) and fire off 3 Magic Missiles 1 being a level 4 with a **max damage of 2240**On turn 1... Solo...

To do this ingame the setup would look like:

Equip the Rhapsody Dagger and kill 3 things for the 3 Scarlet Remittance stacks

Summon a Level 5 Fire Elemental with some form of Arcane Battery or Use Arcane Battery to refill your level 5 slot

Cast the Light Cantrip on yourself

Cast Haste on yourself

Equip Phalar Aluve and cast Shriek

Cast Invisibility (this can be a spell or for free from the Duergar Race level 5 ability)

Have your Fire Elemental enter combat by casting Erupting Cinder on the boss

Walk into the fire on the ground

Enter combat from invisibility by casting Perilous Stakes (as a bonus action) on the boss so it will have advantage and be more likely to land

Finally cast Action Surge, and fire off your two level 5 and one level 4 Magic Missiles

After the fight do a Short rest and you can Repeat again with lower level magic Missiles or Refill your level 5 spell slots with Arcane Recovery charges/Items that refill spell slots

This is VERY reliable and pretty easy to pull off SOLO!

Top Comment: At this point I feel like we just need to make a sticky post about the most commonly used damage rider items, where to get them and what they synergize with because I'm gonna be honest here I am getting bored of just seeing the same damage riders used for every "OMG BROKEN OP" build that pops up with regular intervals.

a guide on how to get Infinity Nikki running beautifully on Steam Deck

Main Post:

hi girlies! Infinity Nikki is here, and it's a bit of a pain to install on Steam Deck. but here's a guide on how to get things up and running fairly well!

you can choose to install either through the official website or the epic games store. the official website is a bit more complicated but the benefit is you don't need any extra launchers. the epic games store is easier, and might be better for you if you've already set up a way to use the epic games store.

EDIT: there have been lots of reports of the epic games store method causing all sorts of weird issues. i recommend just using the official website download! you're free to use the epic games store, but if you get any weird errors, just switch to the website download method.

installing the installer

you can either:

install using the official website download

  1. switch into desktop mode (press the steam button, select power, then switch to desktop)
  2. open the file manager, go to your Home Folder. create a new folder for nonsteam games if you don't have one already.. i named mine NonSteamGames.
  3. create a folder inside that folder called InfinityNikki
  4. go to the official Infinity Niki website and click Windows Download. save it in the InfinityNikki folder you created
  5. inside the InfinityNikki folder, right click the file you downloaded and click Add to Steam
  6. open Steam, go to it's library, find the file you added, select it, click the gear icon, Game Properties.
  7. in Compatibility, set it to Proton Experimental
  8. click the game controller icon, set it to Mouse Only. you can move the mouse with the right trackpad and do a left mouse click with the right trigger.
  9. launch the "game" (installer), and once you're in, it'll show you a screen asking you to confirm. DON'T PRESS INSTALL
  10. instead, on the bottom right of the window, there will be a Customize Install button. click that, and you will be able to select a different install location. choose the InfinityNikki folder you created earlier.
    • to get there: find the folder called / in the left pane of the window. expand that with the little plus icon next to it, then find the folder called home, expand that, then deck, expand that. from there, find the folder you created for non steam games, such as NonSteamGames. click the name of it, not the little plus icon next to it. it should now open up in the right pane.
    • inside that folder in the right pane of the window you should see the InfinityNikki folder you created earlier. double click it. you should then be inside it!
    • now press OK!
    • it might show a weirdly low amount of free space available. you can ignore that, it's not right.
  11. now you can press Install Now!
  12. once that's done installing, over in the steam library, right click the installer "game" and select Remove Non-Steam Game From Library

or, install using the epic games store

instead of doing all those steps, you can install the game through the Epic Games Store if you prefer. Heroic Games Launcher, NonSteamLaunchers, and Junk Store are known to work.

if you choose to do this, make sure you create a seperate launcher for Infinity Nikki in your steam library using whatever method your chosen epic games launcher provides.

you'll still need to follow all the chapters after this one though! starting with adding the game to Steam

adding the game to Steam

  1. if you used the website download: back in the file manager, find the newly created InfinityNikkiGlobal folder (inside your chosen install location), enter it, and find launcher.exe. right click it, click Add to Steam
  2. if you used the epic games store:
    • you can skip this part if your epic games store launcher automatically added the game to Steam for you. if not:
    • go to the file manager again and find wherever your epic games launcher installed Infinity Nikki. (this can vary per launcher, it should tell you somewhere inside the launcher or you can google it)
    • find launcher.exe, right click it, Add to Steam
  3. over in the steam library again, find launcher.exe. open it's properties using the gear menu like before, and rename it to Infinity Nikki. while you're there, go to Compatibility, set it to Proton Experimental
  4. switch back to Game Mode by double clicking return to game mode on the desktop. but we're not done yet!

optional: fixing the blurriness and washed out colors

this is only needed if you play the game in handheld mode

if you're playing in docked mode, you don't need to do this, just make sure the game runs at 1080p or higher. (use the ingame video settings for that)

remember i said "beautifully"? if you've followed infinity nikki guides made before this guide, you might've noticed the game looks a bit... rough, if you play it in handheld mode on steam deck. this is because of the forced anti aliasing method (TAA), but more to the point, the resolution at which it tries to do so.

the effect of TAA is worse the lower the resolution, and so, in infinity nikki's case, it really messes up the colors and overall aesthetic of the game. it's so bad that it makes everything look washed out, blurry, less colorful, lacking contrast, gray-ish, and just really detracts from the colorful fun saturated girly vibe of the game. here's a more detailed explanation

so to fix that:

  1. once you're in game mode, find infinity nikki under non-steam games, find the gear icon again (you'll see it when you press A on the game, on the screen with the Play button and all that), and select Properties.
  2. once in properties, scroll down (inside the Shortcut tab) until you see Game Resolution. set that to 1920x1200, and turn on Set resolution for internal and external display

then close the game properties so you're back on the steam game information screen.

final setup

  1. in game mode, if you haven't already, find infinity nikki under non-steam games, and click into it.
  2. find the game controller icon. enter that to get to the steam game controller settings, and select Mouse only (for now)
  3. you're finally ready to hit Play! ...and start the long process of downloading the actual game
  4. okay, now it'll download the actual game and all the updates. make a cup of tea or something, this'll take a while depending on your internet speed!
  5. once it's done, you can finally hit Start Game!
  6. it might ask you to install visual C++. if it does, hit yes. if it keeps asking for it over and over though, make sure you're using Proton Experimental and not proton 9 or lower!
  7. after the intro, you'll have to sign up for an account if you don't already have one. please do so! to enter information into the fields, use the right trackpad to move the mouse and use the R2 button to click into the text fields, then press Steam + X to bring up the virtual keyboard so you can type.
  8. wait for the shaders to compile
  9. you should now be logged in! congratulations! yaaaayyy!!!
  10. find the settings on the top right of the game screen, and enter it. first of all, go to the Controls tab, and change it to Controller. you'll immediately lose control, so now, press the Steam button, and change the steam game controller settings to Gamepad with Joystick Trackpad!
  11. exit the steam menus and return to the game.
  12. switch to the Video tab. select the Medium preset, then lower Post-Processing to Low, and set Texture to High. leave everything else at Medium.
  13. if you used the blurriness fix:
    • ensure the Resolution says 1920x1200. if it doesn't, set the Display Mode to Fullscreen Window and hold the A button to Apply. then restart the game (uhuh.. i know..)
    • you might also want to turn the ingame Brightness setting down a bit to get a better, even less washed out image
    • press the button with the "..." on your steam deck, and go to the Performance settings. enable Use per-game profile, and set the frame limiter to 30fps. you can also use the game's built in frame limiter, the point is to limit it to 30fps because you're running at a boosted resolution
  14. you can finally play!

done!

frequently asked questions

Q: the launcher keeps popping up an installer asking me to install Visual C++!
A: use Proton Experimental. Proton 9 has this problem for some reason.

Q: i've already logged in to infinity nikki with google and have trouble logging in on the steamdeck. it's crashing!
